Portofino, GoPro Million Dollar Challenge MDC21 WINNER | FPV views of the Dolce Vita

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot FPVFlow was picked for the first FPV Pilots to Watch list of 2022 with this incredible FPV city tour from the Italian Riviera. The video was filmed flying over and around the famed town of Portofino. Located a bit to the southeast of the city of Genoa, Portofino lies near the tip of a peninsula which extends into the Ligurian Sea (a northern inlet of the Mediterranean). Over a thousand years old, Portofino has been a destination for the rich and famous since the 19th century.

🇺🇸 Portofino, Liguria - Italy | FPV drone looking for original glimpses of the bay This jewel of the Italian Riviera was the favorite of the rich and famous during its 1950s heyday, when the Dolce Vita was at its peak. Clark Gable, Maria Callas, Liz Taylor, John Wayne, Madonna… These are just some of the people that fell in love with Portofino. And today celebrities are no exception! Portofino is still today one of the most popular seaside resorts along the Riviera and a worthwhile excursion (the location is a free car zone). Portofino is known for its colorfully painted buildings that line the shore. The town is clustered around its half-moon shaped harbor filled with summer yachts and odd fishing boats and lined with luxury outlets, seafood restaurants, cafes and sumptuous hotels. The medieval castle Castello Brown on the top of the hill has a charming view over the Gulf of Portofino and the harbor is surely worth a visit! Not far from there you can find the Church of San Giorgio which lies almost in the center of the promontory and was built during 12th century but rebuilt after the damages of the last war. If you continue your walk on the promontory you will find the Portofino lighthouse where you can take your aperitivo facing the sunset. 🏆 Part of this video has been selected for the final edit of the #GoProMillionDollarChallenge !
