🇺🇸 Molara island and Cala Girgolu, Sardinia Italy | FPV flight above the beautiful emerald sea of one of the most wonderful Costa Smeralda location Molara — with Molarotto, Tavolara and Punta Coda Cavallo — is part of the Tavolara Marine protected area in the territory of Gallura - Costa Smeralda. The island is less known than its big sister Tavolara, but its incredible natural pools are an attraction for thousands of tourist every summer. Can you blame them? On the Molara island there are some interesting remains: a medieval castle built to protect from pirates attacks; a convent dedicated to Pope Ponziano who, according to legend, was exiled there and forced to hard labour in 235 AC; and a farm of the XIX century that produced cheese. Nowadays the descendants of that livestocks live undisturbed on the island, surrounded by wild-olives and lentisks. The goats sometimes go for a walk on the beach where it is not rare to see them behind some rocks. 🐐 Molara is a sardinian pearl that is wonderful seen by the sea, and even more stunning from above! Cala Girgolu is a little bay in front of the Marine protected area known for its Turtle Rock, a beautiful rock formation that looked just like, of course, a turtle. Unfortunately some vandals had irreparably damaged it… Still, there are fine white sand and crystal-clear water that make the location worth the visit!
