Polignano a Mare ' lo scoglio dell'eremita

Vito losito brings us these beautiful aerial views of a stunning spot along the coastline of Southern Italy.  It's a giant offshore rock called Lo scoglio dell eremita.  It's situated near the town of Polignano a Mare, in the Apulia region in the southeastern part of the country.  It's part of the Metropolitan City of Bari, a sort of quasi-province which covers the city of Bari and its surrounding communities.  The island is tied to a local legend from the Middle Ages in which a man of faith takes his life in a new direction after seeing the rock.
