Point Dume: Malibu, California
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Contributor and pilot mavictraveler used a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone to create this video of Point Dume in Malibu, California. Located on the north side of Santa Monica Bay west of Los Angeles, Point Dume is the site of one of the most iconic scenes in the history of cinema: the finale of the 1968 classic Planet of the Apes. It was here that astronaut George Taylor (Charlton Heston) stumbles upon a destroyed Statue of Liberty and realizes that he has landed on a post-nuclear armageddon Planet Earth.

I've always wanted to go to Point Dume in Malibu because that's where they filmed the end of the Planet of the Apes. I tried to get the exact spot where the "head" of the Statue of Liberty was sitting in the sand. Filmed with Mavic Pro 2.
