Pilgrim Psychiatric Center aka Pilgrim State Hospital
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Check out this drone video of what was once the world's largest psychiatric hospital, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Novice Quads. It's called the Pilgrim Psychiatric Center, and it's located in the New York City suburb of Brentwood on Long Island. Opened in 1931, at its peak the facility had a resident population of nearly 14,000. While parts of the facility are still operational, most of its buildings were shut down as institutionalization fell out of favor as a treatment method for the mentally ill.

Pilgrim Psychiatric Center, formerly known as Pilgrim State Hospital, is a state-run psychiatric hospital located in Brentwood, New York. At the time it opened, it was the largest hospital of any kind in the world. At its peak in 1954 it had 13,875 patients. But was shut down due to abuse and high rate of unexplained deaths. This was a filler video, I really was not inspired to put out a video this week.
