New Earth - Iceland Volcano 2021
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
The eruption of the Fagradalsfjall volcano in southwestern Iceland has been a boon to drone pilots around the world, who have flocked to this North Atlantic island to capture this major volcanic event, the first to occur on the Reykjanes Peninsula (a landform just west of Reykjavik) in several centuries. For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor Alexander Hatfield brings us this excellent aerial video of Iceland's latest geological wonder. Shot with a DJI Mavic Pro 2, this video was a Drone Video of the Week Finalist in April, 2021.

The eruption Geldingadalsgos, that started on March 19th, 2021 on the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland. This is the first eruption in this area in over 800 years, and the first eruption from this particular mountain (Fagradalsfjall) in over 7000 years. Tests on the lava concluded that this is the most primitive lava that has surfaced on Iceland in over 7 Millenia, being supplied straight from the earths mantle. Since this video was shot, many more volcanic vents have opened up in the area. Filmed using a DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Polar Pro Cinema Filters
