Contributor Warren Weir created this aerial capture of an epic New Years' Eve fireworks display off the Jamaican capital city of Kingston.  Situated on the Caribbean island's southern coast, Kingston is also the country's largest city.  Kingston became the capital of Jamaica in 1692 (during its three centuries of British rule) after an earthquake destroyed the previous capital city of Port Royale, which is located to the west of Kingston and was once the largest city in the Caribbean region.
