Mt. Tenjo, Guam
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Mt. Tenjo is the site of an important historical landmark on the US island territory of Guam. More of a hill than a mountain, Tenjo overlooks Apra Harbor, the island's main deepwater port. Seen here in this drone video by guamerial, Mt. Tenjo was fortified with seven heavy gun emplacements by the US Navy in the 1910s, shortly after the USA took control of the island in the Spanish–American War. Unfortunately, the defensive positions were unable to protect the island from the Japanese invasion which occurred on December, 8, 1941.

Enjoy the views of Mt. Tenjo and some of the interesting geological features nearby. Mt. Tenjo is one of the highest peaks in the central mountain area on Guam. Mt. Tenjo is said to possess the only known surviving pre-World War II defensive fortification sites on the island. Unfortunately they are mostly covered with vegetation here, but you may be able to see a glimpse of some of the stone fortifications. Mt. Tenjo also played a key geographical role during the US liberation of Guam during WWII. https://youtu.be/aVZN680Iqxk
