Maestrazgo

A short video I filmed of the Maestrazgo area, in the province of Castellón (Spain) during the first few days of 2025, during a 3 day vacation escape.

In this video I wanted to showcase the beauty of this region, hidden deep in the mountains, surrounded by beautiful towns crowning the highest points, some of them abandoned and forgotten in the middle of nature and wilderness.

A different world back in their time... and surely a different lifestyle...

Sometimes I would like to travel back in time and see what it was like living in places like these in the old days... 

The film opens with the sunrise in a town called Vistabella del Maestrazgo. As we start the treck, you will see some of its incredible views: the colors, the forests, a roman bridge over a dried off river, mount Peñagolosa from afar wich is the highest point in the Valencian Community, and more small towns along the way. At the 2'09 mark we visit Ares del Maestrat. At the 2'19 mark its Culla's turn. At the 2'29 mark we discover Benafigos.

The video closes at the 2'39 mark with the sunset, and a few night shots of the last visited town called Chodos.
