Featuring peaks of up to about 11k ft. above sea level (around 3.35k m), the Dolomites are known for their distinctive gray carbonate rock formations and sharp ridges. They are spread over several provinces in Italy's Trentino-Alto-Adigio, Veneto, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia regions.
