The house is "the last complete survivor of the elegant villas and gardens that bordered the Thames between Richmond and Hampton Court in the 18th century." (English Heritage). It's very nicely restored with lovely rooms and people. The Thames is quite a bit away as the garden is long.

The Coombe Conduit (closed when supposed to be open) was part of a system that collected water from nearby springs and channeled it to Hampton Court Palace.
