Located in the country's namesake capital city, the communications tower stands just under 375 meters tall (a bit over 1.2k ft.). Completed in 1993, it is dedicated to the liberation of the country from Iraqi control in 1991. The tower had been under construction when the country was invaded and annexed by Iraq in the summer of 1990, triggering the conflict known as the First Gulf War.

Kuwait is a city of towers. You should not visit Kuwait without climbing to the top of at least one of them. Towers are symbols of Kuwait’s prosperity. The Liberation Tower is the second tallest structure in Kuwait. Construction of the tower commenced before the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on August 2, 1990. It was meant to be called The Kuwait Telecommunications Tower. This tower suffered no damage during the Iraqi invasion and was given the name Liberation Tower. When the invasion took place, construction, which was almost half-way complete, was put on hold. However, the structure received no damage, and construction resumed after the war. The tower has an architectural height of 372 metres with, an observation deck at 165 metres. The tower host's many government and private offices.
