With its local economy dominated by tourism and convention business, Las Vegas, Nevada saw profound dislocation when the Covid-19 worldwide pandemic forced the city's casinos and other public spaces to shut down in mid-March, 2020. Within weeks, hundreds of thousands of workers tied to the gaming industry had filed for unemployment benefits. In this drone video by Aces Up, you'll get an aerial glimpse of the giant Las Vegas Observation Wheel at the Link Hotel, just east of Las Vegas Boulevard (aka the Strip).

Quick drone clip with my Mavic 2. It was raining lighty, but I had to get at least 1 shot while I had the authorization! It is rare that you see the big wheel with nobody inside, and the Flamingo parking garage is also empty. The I-15 freeway shows signs of life through the spokes of the wheel.
