Check out this stunning drone video of the ancient Belogradchik Fortress in the mountains of Bulgaria, compliments of mihaiflora.  It's located near its namesake town in the Vidin Province, which covers the northwestern part of the country.  The fortress, which uses the natural rock formations here for part of its structure, was constructed during the period of rule by the Roman Empire.  Initially more of an observation post than a defensive structure, it was turned into a true fortress during the 14th century.
