The Melón pools are a natural enclave of the Cerves River that is located southwest of the province of Ourense in the town of Melón.

This river is born in the Faro de Avión mountain range and flows into the Miño, but not without first crossing a series of slopes of 1000m in altitude along its 16 km route.

It is in this descent to the Miño where the Cerves forms a series of pools suitable for bathing and different waterfalls.

The pools are very beautiful but not all of them are recommended for bathing, either because they are shallow or because they are located in very slippery areas, this being the main problem that this natural area has since the stones that surround the pools slippery, such that there have already been several serious accidents, so it is important to take extreme precautions.

Upstream of these pools is the Tourón waterfall, formed by two sections excavated in rock. A walkway crosses the river, towards the bottom, a metal gazebo hangs over the waterfall that washes and polishes the rock. Crossing the bridge, we access a wooden walkway on the other bank that ascends to a viewpoint at the foot of the approximately 20-meter waterfall.
