A2Films created this beautiful drone video of Donner Lake in Northern California. The lake is situated on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, just a few minutes drive northwest of Lake Tahoe. The lake was the setting for one of the most horrific American pioneer stories: the Donner Party's ill-fated expedition to California.  They reached what is now Donner Pass in late 1846 but were trapped for four months with virtually no food; the half that survived did so by eating the dead.
