Deep in Russia North (Medvezhegorsk)

It was shot during the short winter days near the town of Medvezhyegorsk in Karelia, one of the 11 Federal Subjects which make up the country's official Northwestern District. Karelia is located north of St. Petersburg. The republic has a long westerb border with Finland, and (like its Scandinavian neighbor) is largely covered by forests and lakes.
