Take in these beautiful sunset views of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, compliments of AirVuz contributor a1r_m0ses_b.  One of the most well-recognized landmarks of the Antiquity, the acropolis is an ancient fortress which sits atop a rocky hill in the center of the Greek capital city.  Its most notable building, the Parthenon, was built during the rule of Pericles in the 5th century BC.  It was used for military purposes as recently as the 1820's, during the was in which the modern state of Greece emerged from Ottoman control.
