3 Lighthouses in 1 day
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
In this excellent piece, AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Luiz Gerbase brings us this aerial tour of three important lighthouses in Southern Brazil. All three are in the state of Rio Grande du Sol, the country's southernmost. The first lighthouse is Farol da Solão in the municipality of Mostardas, whose iron tower dates to the 1920's. The next stop is the Rubem Berta Lighthouse, which was inaugurated in 1996 and is about 30 meters high. The last is the Cidreira Lighthouse, on the beach of the same name, built in 1933 of masonry.

From Lagoa do Peixe to Cidreira beach, there are 100 km of dunes and deserted beaches. In the last 50 km, coming from the south, 3 lighthouses assist navigation on this coast without alternative protection for those at sea. The Farol da Solão is in the municipality of Mostardas and had its first installation in 1916 or previous years, and would have been an iron tower. The current concrete tower would have been built in 1924 by engineer Grécio Cavalcanti. It is one of the region's great landmarks, and its beauty and architecture are sparkling. Rubem Berta Lighthouse was inaugurated in 1996 and is about 30 meters high. It is on the beach of Dunas Altas, in Palmares do Sul. The Cidreira Lighthouse, on the beach of the same name, was built in 1933 in masonry. The illumination has a range of 30 km in the north direction. It is a tourist attraction in the region.
