Bird's Eye Views of Sweden

For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor and former NYCDFF winner marcusmollerdp brings us this stunning video of the  landscapes of Sweden.  The video was shot with a variety of drones and cameras, including a DJI Inspire 2, a Mavic Pro 2, and a Red camera.  Filmed over different seasons, the video brings out the stunning natural beauty of this giant Scandinavian country.  The piece features outstanding footage of Sweden's lakes, forests, low-slung mountains, and northern lights.  At the 1:30, you'll even see a herd of Swedish reindeer!  

Contributor Highview Media used a DJI's Inspire 2 and Phantom 4 drones to create this aerial reel of Sweden, home to some of Europe's most beautiful wide-open natural spaces.  The video opens with an amazing shot over a bridge with a mist-covered forest in the background.  More iconic forest and lake scenes follow, shot in a range of seasons.  You'll also get to see some of the country's churches, cities, and its people, who number about ten million in one of Europe's largest countries by land area.  

Top contributor spent three years filming Sweden with a drone, and condensed his work into this amazing reel of the Scandinavian country.  The video will take you over some of the most beautiful landcapes of the gigantic nation, which covers over 450k square km (almost 180k square mi.), one of the largest in Europe by land area.  With a population of only about 10 million, it's one of the least densely populated countries in Europe, and it's a magical landscape of lakes, forests, and long coastlines.  

The Scandinavian nation of Sweden is enormous, stretching almost 1,600 km (1,000 mi) from north to south.  To create this amazing video, content creator and pilot Nate Summercock flew his DJI Phantom 3 drone literally up and down the length of this massive country, from Abisko National Park in the north to Skane in the south.  The result is a beautiful bird's eye view of this magnificent country, which covers an incredible 450,000 square km (about 180k square mi.), in the high summer months. 

Stockholm, Sweden dates its rise to prominence dates to the Hanseatic League, an alliance of Baltic cities which dominated Northern Europe from the 12th-14th centuries.  Stockholm went on to become the capital of the Swedish Empire which controlled some of the most powerful military forces in Europe in the 17th century.  Since then, the city has been the capital of Sweden and in effect the capital of Scandinavia.  Here, Frame Hunters Media delivers a beautiful aerial view of the City of Vikings.

Sweden is a largely rural country, covering a land area of just over 450k square km (around 174k square mi).  Its landscape differs greatly from its fellow Scandinavian countries, especially Norway and Iceland.  Devoid of mountains, volcanoes, and fjords, Sweden is instead blessed with thousands of beautiful lakes and gigantic forests.  In this stunning drone video, top contributor and drone pilot Lars Bulow shows us a picture of a land of mist-covered lakes, all from a bird's eye perspective.  

The Swedish capital city of Stockholm is located on a series of islands of the Baltic Sea at a latitude of about 60 degrees north - well south of the Arctic Circle, but far enough north to place it amongst the northernmost of the world's major cities.  In this excellent drone video by copter_shot, you'll get an aerial tour of Scandinavia's largest city in the depths of winter, when the days are as short as six hours.  The video includes footage of such sights as the Waxholm Fortress at the 1:14 mark, Riddarholmen Church (1:57), and more.

Check out this short flyover of the great Swedish city of Gothenburg, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot hamzahhsn.  Located on Sweden's western (North Sea) coast, Gothenburg is the country's second-largest city and the fifth-largest in Scandinavia.  Founded in 1621 by King Gustavus Adolphus, it's the home of Sweden's major western-facing seaport.  In addition to being one of Sweden's most important cultural centers, Gothenburg is home to some of the country's corporate national champions such as Volvo and SKF.

Here's a highly cinematic aerial tour of rural Sweden, compliments of contributor and drone pilot Christian Bunda.  The video opens with a beautiful backward moving shot through an area of dense forest, a landscape which covers much of this very large Scandinavian country.  From there you'll see some of the lakes which cover this country; incredibly, Sweden is home to almost 100,000 lakes(!).  You'll also see some of the country's rivers and streams, which also number in the many thousands.  

For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor skyreel_se brings us this excellent drone view from Sweden's Skåne County.  Largely coastal, Skåne is the southernmost of Sweden's 21 counties.  The county's western shore faces Denmark across the narrow Øresund (the strait which connects the North and Baltic Seas), while its southern and eastern shores are on the Baltic Sea proper.  Created with a mix of drone footage (including first person view (FPV) drone footage), the video includes views of the city of Malmö as well as Skåne's interior.  

Top contributor hamed.razzaghi created this phenomenal drone video from one of the top bird-watching spots in Europe.  Lake Hornborga (Hornborgasjön) is located in Västergötland, a province of southwestern Sweden.  The lake (which dates to the last ice age) and its surroundings have become an important sanctuary for cranes who come through the area in their annual migrations.  The lakes's water level was reduced in the early 19th century to create cattle pastures, but was later restored.  

Dalarna is a historical province of west-central Sweden, extending from the western border with Norway well into the interior.  The name Dalarna translates to "valleys", and the area is full of them, along with beautiful forests and lakes.  It is a popular vacation spots for Swedes from the more populous southern and eastern parts of the country as well as from elsewhere in Scandinavia. Contributor and pilot Phexon used a drone to create this impressive aerial tour of this iconic-looking Nordic region in the dead of winter. 

Top contributor and pilot maartenfilms created this stunning drone video from the far northern reaches of Sweden.  It was filmed at the Kungsfjall Arctic Circle trails, which lay (as the name suggests) within the Arctic Circle.  Located over 1.3k km (around 800 mi.) north of the capital city Stockholm, this area is sometimes referred to as Swedish Lapland in reference to the far northern region of Finland.  The video was shot with a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone mounted with PolarPro Cinema Series filters.

Check out these drone views from northern Sweden, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Made by John.  The video was shot over the country's Norrland Region, the name for the northernmost of the three traditional geographic sections.  Norrland, which is a cultural and historical region with no special administrative status, consists of nine provinces.  It covers a vast area of about 275k square km (around 100k square mi.) but its population of a bit over a half-million is only about 5% of the country's roughly 10 million inhabitants.  

New AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Neil Cave brings us this beautiful wintertime aerial video from Sweden's Dalarna County, one of the main regions in the central part of this Scandinavian country.  The video was filmed in and around the village of Villa Gladtjarn in the municipality of Smedjebacken, in the southeastern part of the county.  The video features the iconic (and colorful) villages here, as well as some of the lakes which dot the region.  The video was filmed with a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone.  

With its vast areas of forests and lakes, Sweden offers some of the most compelling Fall scenery in Europe.  In this fantastic drone video by former Drone Video of the Week Finalist hamed.razzaghi, you'll get an aerial view of the Swedish hinterland as the season transitions from Summer to Autumn.  The video was filmed in the south-central part of the country, between the port city of Gothenburg and the interior town of Jönköping.  The video makes excellent use of the light clouds hovering over the forest.  

Contributor and pilot mohamed elbangy created this stunning drone video of a forest in Sweden, a country famous in part for its vast areas of woods.  The video was shot through the clouds in Skåne County, the southernmost of the 21 counties (sometimes called Läns) which make up this very large Scandinavian country.  In addition to its beautiful forests, Skåne County is the home of Malmö, the country's third-largest city after the capital city Stockholm and the port city of Gothenburg.  

One of the top attractions in the Scania region of southern Sweden is a site known as the Ales's Stones, a large ancient stone monument built in the shape of a ship.  It's estimated that the monument was built between 1.5k-5.5k years ago (an unusually wide range for a ruins site).  However, the exact purposes of this and other similar ancient monuments in the region are still a mystery.  Contributor and pilot FBAerial flew a drone over these ancient ruins to produce this impressive aerial video of the site.  

Check out this stunning drone video from the forests of Sweden, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Mohammed's.  The video was filmed over Dalarna, a region of central Sweden which has a long western border with Norway.  Dalarna covers about 11k square mi. (almost 30k square km) of territory (roughly the land area of Denmark) and has only about a quarter of a million inhabitants.  The northern part of the province is covered by the heavily forested Scandinavian Mountains range.    

Contributor and pilot carlgrundel1964 created this surreal-looking drone video of a beautiful spot in southern Sweden.  It was shot around the town of Jönköping, in the province of Småland.  The town is located on the southern shore of Lake Vättern, the country's second largest lake and one of the half-dozen largest freshwater bodies in Europe.  The video includes aerial footage of the town itself as well as of the lake, which covers over 1.9k square km (around 740 square mi.).  

Scandinavia is home to some of the world's largest forests, so it's not surprising that it's also an incredibly important region for the paper industry.  In 2017, both Sweden and Finland were amongst the world's largest paper manufacturing countries.  In this drone video by contributor pheXon, you'll get a bird's eye view of the timber storage areas around Stora Enso Kvarnsveden, Sweden's largest papermill.  Located near the center of the country, it's operated by Stora Enso, a Finnish paper company.  

Contributor hamed.razzaghi created this beautiful drone video of Öland, Sweden's second largest island.  It's situated in the Baltic Sea off the southeastern coast of this Scandinavian country.  The island covers over 1.3k square km (a bit over 500 square mi.) and is its own province.  Since 1972, it has been connected to the mainland Sweden over the Kalmart Strait via the Öland Bridge, still one of the longest bridges in Europe.  Settled 10,000 years ago, its current population is about 26,000.  

Check out this drone video from the northern reaches of Sweden, compliments of contributor and pilot FourHorizons.  The video was filmed in the area of Jukkasjärvi, a village in the municipality of Kiruna.  It's part of Norrbotten, the northernmost of the 21 counties of Sweden.  The village lies on the banks of the Torne River, one of the major waterways of northern Scandinavia.  It flows past the town in a southeasterly direction, emptying into the Gulf of Bothnia, an inlet of the Baltic Sea.

If you think Norway has a monopoly on climbing spots in Scandinavia, you will reconsider when you see this drone video by top contributor and pilot hamed.razzaghi.  The video was shot in an area of Bohuslän, a province in the southwestern part of the country.  It's home to some cliffs which aren't especially high but which present long smooth faces with enough cracks to make for great trad climbing - "trad" being climber-speak for "traditional" climbing, in which pre-placed bolts are not employed.  

Drifting Teslas on a frozen lake in Sweden.  What could be finer?  Award-winning contributor ZilverSchmitz brings us this fantastic scene of the world's most sought-after electric cars racing through a drift course on a very frozen lake near Östersund, a town in the Jämtland region of north-central Sweden.  This iconic wintertime scene is a perfect backdrop to see how these battery-powered cars perform in a traction-deficient environment.  It makes for a very entertaining 60 second video, well worth a watch.

For his first upload to AirVuz, new contributor swemik89 brings us this excellent drone video from the northern part of Öland, a Swedish island in the Baltic Sea.  The long, narrow island, Sweden's second-largest, lies about halfway between Stockholm and Malmö.  The wider, southern part of the island is home to most of its roughly 26k inhabitants as well as the Öland Bridge, which connects Öland to the mainland over the Kalmar Strait.  The video was filmed with a DJI Phantom 3 drone.  

Check out this marvelous 30 second "reveal" of Gothenburg, Sweden by brand-new AirVuz contributor hamzahhsn.  Sweden's second-largest city (after Stockholm) and the largest on its western (North Sea) coast, Gothenburg is the capital of Västra Götaland County.  Founded in the early 17th century, the city is home to the largest seaport in Scandinavia.  It's also a major center for post-secondary education, as well as the corporate headquarters for some of Sweden's national champions such as Volvo and SKF.

AirVuz contributor and pilot Drone of Sweden used a DJI Mavic Air 2 to create this marvelous aerial video of a sparsely populated island of western Sweden.  It's called Rörö, and it's one of the larger islands of the Gothenburg Archipelago in the North Sea just west of its namesake city, the country's second-largest.  The archipelago is divided into northern and southern groupings; Rörö is one of the ten main islands of the northern group.  A nature reserve, it's part of the municipality of Öckerö in Västra Götaland County.

Take in these beautiful drone views of a well-known park in the Swedish city of Gothenburg, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot hamzahhsn.  It's called Kungsparken, and it's located in the heart of the country's second-largest city (after its capital, Stockholm).  Built in the 19th century, the 13 hectare (32 acre) park stretches out on the southern side of a canal which is part of a system of waterways that encircles the center of the city.  The canal connects to the Göta älv near its mouth on the North Sea.

AirVuz contributor Antrei Lausti brings us this drone video of Malmö, Sweden.  The third-largest Swedish city after Stockholm and Gothenburg, Malmö is located on the Øresund, a strait which connects the North Sea with the Baltic Sea and also serves as the border between Denmark and Sweden.  Since the completion of the Øresund Bridge in 2000, Malmö has become much more closely integrated with Copenhagen, which lies just across the bridge to the west.  Malmö is the capital of Skåne County, the southernmost in Sweden.  

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor and drone pilot Drone of Sweden brings us this marvelous aerial tour of the Swedish island of Källö-Knippla.  It's one of a large group of islands known as the Northern Gothenburg Archipelago, which lies off the country's western coast in the North Sea, just west of the port of Gothenburg.  Källö-Knippla is part of the municipality of Öckerö in Västra Götaland County, which covers the portion of western Sweden nearest to the border with Norway.  

Stretching out east of Stockholm, Sweden is a vast archipelago consisting of thousands of islands, most of them uninhabited.  In this drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot photomiqs, you'll get a beautiful aerial view of the Ingarö Archipelago, a subgroup of the larger Stockholm Archipelgao.  It consists of its namesake island and thousands of satellites, located southeast of the Swedish capital in the Baltic Sea.  The video was shot on a foggy day with the new DJI Mavic Air 2 drone.  

Check out this serene aerial scene from southern Sweden, compliments of AirVuz contributor and drone pilot hamed.razzaghi.  He filmed it near his hometown of Ulricehamn in Västra Götaland County, which covers a large territory in the southwestern part of the country.  Located more or less due east of Gothenburg (the country's capital city), this a heavily forested area which is dotted with almost countless lakes.  Watch the video and take in the almost surreal beauty of this Scandinavian wonderland. 

Soar over the Swedish city of Gothenburg in this fantastic drone video by brand-new AirVuz contributor n.m production.   Sweden's second-largest city is situated on its west coast, along the strait of Skagerrak, which connects the North Sea with the Baltic Sea.  Starting at about the 1:00 mark, there's a great circling shot of the Masthugg Church, which overlooks the river Göta älv and which was completed in 1914.  Other featured locations include the Seamen's Tower (1:30), the Älvsborg Bridge (2:00), and more.

(70 km) north of Stockholm and is Sweden's fourth-largest city; highlights include a nice shot of Uppsala Castle at the :13 mark.  Then it's on to Lake Siljan in Dalarna, an area of central Sweden; it's the country's seventh-largest lake.  The last stop is the municipality of Hammarö on the country's western side, more or less opposite Stockholm.  The video was filmed with a DJI Mini 2 drone.  

Skåne is the southernmost of the 21 counties of Sweden and the third-most populous.  It has long southern and eastern coastlines on the Baltic Sea, and a western coastline on the Sound (Øresund) and (to the north) the  North Sea.  In this drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot Swedish Odyssey, you'll get a mini aerial tour of this important region.  Shot mainly along the county's coastline, the video features footage of the harbor towns of Mölle and Torekov, the Kullaberg Peninsula, and more. 

Here's a nice aerial view of Sweden's Kullaberg Peninsula, compliments of AirVuz contributor and drone pilot stanleyondrus.  Part of the province of Skåne, which covers the southernmost part of the country, the peninsula extends into the Kattegat, the body of water which separates the mainlands of Sweden and Denmark.  Heavily forested, the Kullaberg is home to a wide variety of bird species and has been officially designated as a Important Bird and Biodiversity Area as well as a Special Protection Area under EU laws.   

Enjoy these aerial views of southern Sweden, compliments of contributor Aparismiró.  The video opens with shots of Styrsö, one of a group of North Sea islands located southwest of Gothenburg.  Then you'll head north to Smögen, also on the North Sea (western coast), about halfway between Gothenburg and the Norwegian border.  Starting at the 1:20 mark, you'll see Hunnebostrand, a bit further north along the coast, before heading back south to Gothenburg, Sweden's second city.  The final shots are from Norrköping, in southeastern Sweden. 

Check out this beautiful drone video of a famous castle on the outskirts of Stockholm, Sweden, compliments of AirVuz contributor photomiqs.  Tyresö Palace is located in Tyresö Municipality, about 15 mi. (around 25 km) southeast of central Stockholm.  The palace was originally built in the 1620's-1630's for Gabriel Gustafsson Oxenstierna, a Swedish statesman who had been (among other roles) a Privy Counselor to Swedish King Gustavus Adolphus.  In the late 1770's, the palace became the first in Sweden to have an English-style garden.  

Check out this drone video of a well-known 17th century Swedish castle, compliments of AirVuz contributor photomiqs.  Skokloster Castle is situated on the shores of Lake Mälaren (Sweden's third-largest freshwater body), a bit south of the city of Uppsala and a somewhat further distance northwest of Stockholm.  The Baroque style landmark was constructed between 1654-76 by Carl Gustaf Wrangel, who commanded Sweden's forces during the Thirty Years' War and in later conflicts.  Since 1967, the castle has been owned by the Swedish government.

Contributor hamed.razzaghi created this stunning drone video from an island in one of Sweden's best known lakes.  Visingsö is an oblong shaped island in the southern part of Vättern Lake.  The lake, which resembles a finger, sits in the south central part of the country.  With a surface area of 1.9k square km (about 740 square mi.), it's the second largest lake in the country (after Lake Vänern), and the sixth largest lake in Europe.  It's also quite deep, with a max depth of just under 130 meters (430 ft.).  

Gothenburg is the second-largest city in Sweden after Stockholm.  A port city, it faces the northern tip of Denmark, beyond which lies the North Sea.  It hosts many festivals, including the annual Gothenburg Film Festival, the largest such event in Scandinavia.  Droneflix used a Phantom 4 Pro drone to create this mesmerizing portrait of the city from an aerial perspective.  Most of the footage is of the city's port, Sweden's primary port for trans-Atlantic trade and its largest by gross tonnage.

Swedish drone piloting company CopterCam put together this beautiful reel showing the range of their professional aerial videography work.  The video also shows off some of the beauty of this Scandinavian country.  It features a range of landscape, city shots, and action shots such as footage of racing cars, a high-speed train, numerous boats and ships, and an outdoor music concert.  Other highlights include great footage of Sweden's #2 city Gothenburg, including its iconic Älvsborg Bridge.
