2020 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 7

Two-time Drone Video of the Week Finalist Victor Metron does it again with this fantastic aerial collage from the American West. The video opens with an epic shot of a snow-covered forest in Washington State. At about the 1:30 mark, there's an incredible timelapse shot looking over a shimmering alpine lake surrounded by mountains; it's followed by another sequence involving a different mountain lake. Other footage sequences show off the beauty of Washington's Puget Sound, the Central California coastline, and more.   

Check out this stunning drone video of Moscow in the throes of the Russian winter, compliments of former DVOW winner pushkinflyteam. At the :30 mark, there's an incredible shot looking over the Kremlin walls on the Moskva River.  At about 1:05, you'll see Red Square, on the opposite side of the Kremlin from the river. At 1:30, you'll see the Krymsky Bridge, just upstream from the Kremlin.  Other featured spots include the star-topped MSU building (1:55), the Pushkin Bridge (2:00), the Moscow City District (2:05), and more. 

Top contributor HikeTheWorld created this highly cinematic video from the Carpathian Mountains of Slovakia. The great mountain chain forms an arc which begins just east of Vienna, Austria and covers the northern part of Slovakia, serving as the country's natural northern boundary with Poland. Filmed during the winter using both drone and ground camera footage, the video captures the beauty of this alpine region during what some consider to be its most picturesque season. This video was a DVOW nominee in February 2020.

Top contributor and former DVOW Finalist Signo11 hit another bulls-eye with this jaw-dropping piece from the Italian Alps.  Shot with a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone, the film uses sequences captured in all four seasons.  Opening with a stunning shot over a lake encircled by Fall colors, the video then takes you up into the snow-covered peaks of the Lombardy and Trentino-Alto-Adige regions.  Then you'll be taken over the area's famous alpine valleys during the spring and summer months, closing with some incredible wintertime shots.
