Moldavia is an officially recognized region of Romania, occupying the northeastern portion of this Southeastern European country. It was the joining of the principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia to its south that brought modern day Romania into being in the 19th century. The western part of the region run through the Eastern Carpathian Mountains that serve as the border with neighboring Transylvania (which didn't join Romania until the early 20th century), and features beautiful mountain peaks, spectacular rock formations, one of Europe's greatest canyons, beautiful hilltop castles, and the magnificent city of Piatra Neamț. The eastern part of Moldavia features the great regional capital city Iasi, the marvelously well preserved original capital of Romania and by most accounts still its cultural capital. This collection features the best drone videos from this beautiful and fascinating region. Aerial photo: “Fortress of Suceava, Romania” by AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Nelstill.
