Fiji is one of the most well known of the South Pacific Islands. It's part of Melanesia, a group of islands that stretches from New Guinea to New Caledonia. Fiji has comprised over 300 separate islands, of which about a third are inhabited. Fiji was a British colony for about a century before gaining independence in 1970. The island became much more well known when it served as the primary filming location for the 1980 movie The Blue Lagoon, and it's now home to some of the world's best surfing beaches. Here is a collection of the best drone videos from this tropical paradise, which recently appeared #1 in US News & World Report's World's Best Beaches survey.
