Fiji Untouched | Kadavu Island above and below the waves
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
See Fiji's Kadavu Island by drone in this stunning, 4K video by world traveler, top AirVuz contributor, and drone pilot Jturner. Kadavu is the fourth largest island in this South Pacific island nation, measuring out at about 411 square km (around 160 square mi.). It is the largest island of the Kadavu Group, a volcanic archipelago on the Great Astrolabe Reef. About 60 km long (around 37 mi.), Kadavu is nearly sliced in half; only the very narrow Namalata Isthmus connects the two halves of the island.

I put this film together using video I shot during our week-long dive trip at Matava eco resort on Kadavu Island Fiji. We were the only dive boat on the entire Great Astrolabe reef! The coral and marine life were extremely healthy and made for spectacular diving. The scenery of Kadavu island is beautiful with thick rainforest and mangroves that lead right into coral lagoons. We also visited a local village and there are some clips of that at the end. Equipment used: Aerial shots- DJI Mavic Pro Underwater scuba diving- Panasonic GH5 with 7-14mm using meikon waterproof housing and 6" dome port. Recorded in 8bit 4k 60fps Land- DJI Osmo pocket and a few with the GH5 14-140mm
