The video was shot on a hauntingly foggy day over the Bieszczady Mountains, which cover a portion of the southeastern part of the country as well as adjacent areas of Slovakia and Ukraine. These mountains form part of the Outer Eastern Carpathians. The highest peak of the Bieszczady Mountains on the Polish side is Mt. Tarnica, which has a peak elevation of 1.35k meters above sea level (just over 4.4k ft.).

Dunajec Castle, also known as Niedzica Castle, sits at the very southern edge of Poland near the foothills of the Carpathians. Built in the 14th century, it is one of the most well known castles in the country. Ownership of the castle changed several times over the centuries between Polish and Hungarian owners. Hel is an narrow sand bar which juts out about 35 km (20 mi) in a southeastern direction from Puck County to the town of Puck at the tip. Fromborg is a small town on the Vistula Lagoon, a lagoon on the Baltic Sea which is demarcated by the Vistula Spit. Elblag is a considerably larger town, with a population of over 120,000. It lies on the Elblag River, which flows into the Vistula Lagoon. Elblag is one of the oldest cities in northern Poland, and was a member of the Hanseatic League.

Poland was the scene of some of the worst violence of World War II, seeing about 25% of its population killed. Some of the most concentrated and horrific violence occurred at the Auschwitz concentration/death camp in Galicia in southern Poland, where over a million holocaust victims perished. Located in Rudno, Poland the Tenczyn Castle is a medieval castle that was built as the seat of the once powerful Tęczyński family. The great landmark was completed in the early 14th century in the Polish Gothic-Polish Mannerism style. Destroyed in the mid-17th century, it was rebuilt then fell to ruin after a fire in the mid-18th century. Open to the public, it remains in a ruined state. AVEA - Alta Vista Epic Aerials created this drone video of Grodziec Castle in the Silesia region of southwestern Poland, a famous landmark whose history reflects the region's tumultuous past. The original Gothic structure was heavily damaged during the 15th century Hussite Wars and later rebuilt in an early Renaissance style. It again became a casualty of military conflict when it was nearly ruined by Habsburg forces during the Thirty Years' War of the 1600s. Partially restored, it was damaged again during WW II.

Contributor OMJ FPV created this beautiful drone video of Pieskowa Skała, one of the most well known castles in southern Poland. It's situated in Ojców National Park in the Pradnik River valley, a bit north of Krakow. Originally built in the 14th century, it was rebuilt in the current Renaissance style in the 16th. It subsequently underwent a series of ownership changes before coming into the hands of a historical society in the early 20th century. It was subsequently donated to the Polish state and restored.

From contributor and pilot DroneEyePerspective comes this beautiful "drone's eye" view of a historical Baltic Sea port in Poland. It's called Kołobrzeg, and it's a mid-sized city of about 50,000 in the Vlodship (province) of West Pomerania, which covers the northwest corner of the country. The town was at one time a member of the powerful Hanseatic League of Baltic port cities, and later spent three centuries under Prussian and German rule before becoming part of reconstituted Poland after World War II.

The Oliwa Cathedral is a famous church in northern Poland. Seen in this excellent drone video by contributor Adrian Krupczynski, it's located in the Oliwa District of Gdańsk, the country's main port on the Baltic Sea. Built in the late 1500's on the site of a 12th century monastery, the church took much of its current form with the addition of a Baroque style portal (opening) in the late 1600's. The video also features some nice footage of the park and buildings surrounding the church, which was elevated to an archcathedral in 1992.

Capital of the voivodeship (province) of Silesia, Katowice is located about an hour's drive west-northwest of Kraków, Poland's second-largest city. Katowice became an important industrial center in the 19th century due to its proximity to the Silesian coalfields, at a time when the region was part of the Germany Empire; Silesia became part of Poland following World War I.

The Royal Castle is one of the great landmarks of Warsaw, Poland. The castle, along with most of Warsaw's Old Town, was virtually destroyed by Nazi Germany during the course of World War II, with most of the damage being deliberately inflicted following the suppression of the Warsaw Uprising in late 1944. In the postwar decades, the castle and most of the Old Town were meticulously reconstructed. You can see the famous castle and its gardens from above in this drone video by contributor and pilot volatusmedia.

Poznan is the largest city in western Poland and the fifth largest in the country. At one point, the city had a large German population, and it was incorporated into Germany near the outset of World War II. Decades later, Poznan was the scene of some of the earliest unrest over the Soviet Union's hegemony in the 1950's, a role later taken by Gdansk. In this video, contributor and pilot Dronujemy gives us a fascinating aerial tour of this very old city, which includes aerial footage of the Poznan Cathedral.
