Algarve is an officially recognized region of Portugal, one of five into which the mainland is divided (seven including the Azores and Madeira). It is situated in the southernmost part of the country, in a roughly east-west "strip" with the Atlantic Ocean on the west and southern Spain on the east. The most lightly populated of the mainland regions, Algarve has seen its tourism explode in recent years as travelers have discovered its spectacular coastline and pristine beaches, particularly in the area around Faro which has become known as the Golden Triangle. Here is a collection of the best drone videos of this region in the southwest corner of the Iberian Peninsula. Aerial photo: "Portimão, Algarve" by AirVuz contributor and drone pilot arAlho.
