The Vendée is an area of west-central France, on the Atlantic coast.  It is situated between the cities of Nantes to the north and Bordeaux somewhat further to the south.  It has been an important battleground area, going back to the Hundred Years' War with England beginning in the 14th century.  Later, it was the first area to  revolt (bloodily) against the French Revolutionary Government in the 1790's. In this video, contributor Leogiraudeau gives us an aerial view of the area's stunning coastline.
