St. Nicholas Church

Check out this excellent first person view (FPV) drone video of an iconic-looking church on the Greek island of Crete, compliments of AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot OttocomaFPV. It's called St. Nicholas Church (Agios Nikolaos), and it's located at the tip of a tiny peninsula in the village of Georgioupoli, a bit to the east of the port city of Chania on Crete's northern coastline. This video was picked by the AirVuz editorial staff for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in July of 2023.

Small chapel located on a low penninsula about 100 meters into the sea. The chapel was built, dedicated to Saint Nicholas patron saint of sailors, to protect village fishermen and to provide a place for families to pray for their safe return.
Because of its location, Agios Nikolaos Church appears to be emerging from the Aegean Sea. The chapel is dedicated to St. Nicholas (Ἅγιος Νικόλαος), the patron of sailors. Yes, this is the same saint who inspired the legend of Santa Claus.
