Ruins of the palace in Runowo

At the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, Jan Orzelski (the castellan of Rogozin and the starost of Kościan) built a large brick Renaissance manor house in place of the old wooden building (1595). The manor house was rebuilt in 1860 on the initiative of the then owners - the von Bethmann-Hollweg family. Including a tower topped with a conical roof and circular turrets was added. The palace was set on fire in 1945 by the retreating German army and it was finally ruined in the post-war years. After the war, the property was state property until 1997.
