Castle in Bobrowniki - a fortified castle in Bobrowniki, probably erected by the Piast prince of Dobrzyń, Władysław Garbaty. After the Polish-Teutonic wars, the seat of the starost. From the 18th century in ruins. The castle in Bobrowniki was built probably around the mid-fourteenth century. Its founder was Władysław Garbacz, the prince of Dobrzyń. It was the seat of a prince, prince starosts, Teutonic aldermen and royal starosts. The preserved Teutonic inventories mention the existence of an associated farm near the castle. In 1377, the castle was received from King Ludwik of Hungary, Władysław Opolczyk, who sold the stronghold in 1392 to the Teutonic Order. In 1405, Władysław Jagiełło bought the Dobrzyń land together with Bobrowniki from the hands of the Teutonic Knights, but four years later, after the attack on the stronghold and the destruction of part of the walls by the Teutonic artillery, it passed into the hands of the Order on August 28, and then, probably in the summer of 1410, it returned to Polish rule. Its border location has again become the reason for many investments in the modernization of the facility; despite this, the building, which was the seat of the starosts, did not play any military role. During the Thirteen Years' War and the battles with the Order in 1519–1521, it was a prison for captured Teutonic knights. The shift of the state border finally deprived the building of its strategic role. During the war of 1655-1660, the castle and the town archive were burnt down by the Swedes, but at the beginning of the 18th century it was still used to a small extent. In the second half of the 18th century, the building was already badly damaged. The ruins have not been hosted to this day - attempts are underway to take over the monument by the Bobrowniki commune - and they are devastated. An additional threat to them is the overflow of the Vistula (for several dozen years, until the 1980s, the ruins were located on the island, separated from the right bank of the river by a wild arm).
