we fly through the imperial port of Claudius and Trajan
The images tell us the majesty of this engineering work.
Built initially by Emperor Claudius and then later by Emperor Trajan, it became one of the largest ports in the Mediterranean during the Roman Empire.
The port was able to supply the needs of Rome, the capital of the empire, inside it had warehouses and a hexagonal-shaped dock and very efficient docks, a lighthouse on the coastal part, and a fortification around it.
Today it is still possible to see the walls and marble columns, which after over two thousand years show us the grandeur of this port.
