Flying around Hot Air balloons in Cappadocia - Cinematic FPV

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : The Cappadocia region of central Turkey is famous for its "fairy tale" rock formations as well as the hot air balloons which take tourists over these geological wonders. In this video, top AirVuz contributor lukethecreator provides a unique first person view (FPV) look at the wonders of Capadocccia, which lies on the Anatolian Plateau. The first part of the video focuses on the rock formations, which were created by unusual sedimentary deposition and erosion patterns, while the second part focuses on the ballooning scene.

Sometimes, things don’t go as planned, but the journey can still lead to incredible moments. Last year, I spent a week in the breathtaking landscapes of Cappadocia, Turkey, with the aim of capturing Marc Offenbacher’s epic base jump from a hot air balloon. Unfortunately, due to timing and the balloon drifting too far off course, I missed the jump. Flying at 1200m altitude without GPS (no time to wait for a lock), I pushed my FPV skills to the limit, nearly losing my way back. While the original plan didn’t pan out, I still managed to capture some stunning footage that I’m excited to share with you. This edit is a reminder that even when things don’t go as expected, there’s beauty in every twist and turn.
