The Baltic republic of Latvia has some of Europe's most beautiful lake landscapes.  Small in land area (around 64k square km or about 25k square mi.), it's home to thousands of lakes and ponds, in addition to an astounding 12k+ rivers and streams.  Set on the great East European Plain, these lake areas take on a stunning appearance in the morning hours of the warmer months, when much of the low-lying lands become covered in mist.  To see what we mean, check out this stunning drone video by Nils Sokolovs.
