Most of the disttict is part of the national park of the same name, the UK's second-oldest, which receives nearly 20 million visitors per year. It's located in Cumbria, one of the counties of the North West England region. Immortalized in English literature and poetry, the Lake District is home to England's highest peak, over a dozen lakes, charming villages, and other attractions.
