Winter in High Tatras, Slovakia

The Carpathian Mountains take different names in different countries. In Slovakia, they are known as the Tatras. The highest sub-chain is the High Tatras, which are located in the north central part of the country. These mountains are home to the highest peaks in the entire Carpathian range, which extend for 1.7k km (about 1k mi.) across Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe.
