Where do you not see yourself when you are
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Digital Peace Drone created this amazing drone videos of one of the great landmarks of greater Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Niterói Contemporary Art Museum. Located in Rio's "twin" city of Niterói, it sits on a small southward facing peninsula, more or less due east from its counterpart the Rio Art Museum on the other side of Guanabara Bay. The distinctive-looking white "flying saucer" design was the work of Oscar Niemeyer, considered Brazil's most famous architect.

I'm very thanksful for loving my work! Yesterday I had the opportunity to fly in this amazing and one the the biggest landmarks of the memorable architect Oscar Niemeyer! I sent an email to the responsible asking for authorization and... EMAIL : "Hello, Mr. Flavio Bonan, how are you? I am Claudio P., founding partner of Digital Peace Aerial Images, and as a citizen, resident, viewer and lover of the city of Niterói, I feel privileged - and also delighted - with the idea of getting rid of the image that dominates in our minds when we think of MAC. Congratulations on the initiative of all the team! As you can see in my presentation, I work with aerial images, and I confess that I get some angles that by many are unknown, but independently, the challenge attracts us, the search for more unpublished images motivates us, and finally, what honor would it be at the moment? of my visitation have the opportunity to take a flight and register this new and undoubtedly incredible panorama. And here I am to ask you: Would you have any possibility of realizing this new dream ?! As soon as we are homologated by ANAC (and with your prior permission) if necessary I can request the flight authorization through DECEA, for a better and more secure registration. Thank you for your attention and I look forward to hearing from you! Big hug! Claudio P." EVENT DESCRIPTION : For the first time, in these 21 years of existence of MAC Niterói, museum coverage will be occupied and visited. "Where do you not see yourself when you are" is proposed to take the MAC from view and what is the most appropriate place for it? The cover! "The MAC architecture seems to want to dominate the Guanabara Bay landscape. With a single point of contact with the ground, the structure appears autonomous, absolute ", explains the artist. The work presented makes it possible to unveil other situations, marked by an atypical space-time, possible only in the context of a fleeting installation work. The artist also proposes a challenge: how to get rid of the image that dominates the experience of those who visit the MAC? The project seeks, therefore, to add to the experience of the public the chance to simultaneously be in this striking object and lose sight of its image. For this, the idea of the occupation of the cover plate of the museum, from where one can no longer determine its limits nor recognize its form. "The installation of a ladder in tubular structure on the stretch of ramp that gives access to the exhibition floor - the same structure used by climbers hired to clean the museum's glass - offers the public the opportunity to inhabit the roof. The shape of the covering surface, concave to those who look down from the exhibition hall and convex to those who occupy it above, enhances what we call the dissolution of the MAC, or at least the image of it "For the first time, in these 21 years of existence of MAC Niterói, museum coverage will be occupied and visited.
