West Penwith Cornwall, from Moor to Coast

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Top AirVuz contributor ChrisBaish brings us this excellent drone video from County Cornwall in South West England.  The video was filmed over the Penwith Peninsula, which lies in the southwestern part of Cornwall and which marks the westernmost point on the island of Great Britain.  Filmed with a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone, the video will take you over the stunning Cornish coastline.  You'll also see some vestiges of Cornwall's rich mining history, when the region served as one of the world's most important sources of copper and tin.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

Throughout this video I wanted to highlight contrasts in both landscape and light/shadow. It's the first time I've specifically filmed with something like this in mind.

Penwith Moor has just been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and it’s not hard to see why.

Featuring Landon Quoit, Greenburrow Engine House, Bosigran Farm, Carn Galver and Carn Garver Engine house, as well as Bosigran Castle Promontory Fort and Commando Ridge.

This part of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB) contains a more ancient monuments and sites than any other place in Britain. Useful information, news and images can be gained from sites such as The Ancient Sites in West Penwith or Cornish Ancient Sites Protection Network. Chysauster Ancient Village is a great example of a 2000 year old settlement of a kind only found in this area. The St Just Mining District is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. It is possible to visit mines at Geevor, Levant and Botallack.
