Walhalla Germany

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Contributor and pilot Oszibusz created this remarkable drone video of Walhalla, a museum of sorts to honor the great Germans of history. It's located on a hill overlooking the Danube River near the city of Regensburg, in the southern German state of Bavaria. Walhalla was conceived in the early 19th century. Its core collection consists of over 200 busts and plaques commemorating key German historical figures, including Albert Einstein, Otto von Bismarck, Martin Luther, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and many more.

The Walhalla is a hall of fame that honours laudable and distinguished people in German history – "politicians, sovereigns, scientists and artists of the German tongue" Built decades before the foundation of the modern German state in 1871 and the formation of modern German identity, "German" was initially understood as "Germanic", and included ancient Germanic (Gothic, Vandal, Lombardic, Anglo-Saxon) as well as medieval Dutch, Swedish and Russian figures. The hall is a neo-classical building above the Danube River, in Donaustauf, east of Regensburg in Bavaria.
