The municipality lies on the shore of Lake Avándaro in the State of Mexico, about a two hour drive southwest of the capital. With stunning natural volcanic scenery, the town is known as a popular getaway destination for the 25+ million who call Mexico City home. Valle de Bravo has hosted a well-known auto race as well as a giant popular music festival, among other attractions.
