Trip to Matera

Contributor Mark59 created this stunning drone video of Italy's Matera province, which is part of the Basilicata region.  Picturing Italy as a "boot", Matera is where the "instep" sits.  The City of Matera (which is the provincial capital) was founded by Romans in the third century BC.  It's known for its many churches as well as Benedictine and Basilian monasteries, most of which date to the 7th and 8th centuries AD.  The city "stood in" for the Amazonian town of Themyscira in the 2017 blockbuster Wonder Woman.
