The fairytale castles of King Ludwig II. Hohenschwngau and Neuschwanstein
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Droneuwe put together this fantastic aerial tour of two of the great landmarks of southern Germany: Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein Castles. The former was built in the 1830's on the site of a castle ruin near the town of Hohenschwangau by the Bavarian King Maximilian II. His son Ludwig grew up here, and after ascending to the throne as Ludwig II he ordered the construction of Neuschwanstein on the site of a another ruined castle just a few hundred meters/yards away; the castle was completed shortly before his death in 1886.
