The Lakes

Williamsport Lakes is one of the many jewels of Maury County, Tennessee. I have spent many hours at these lakes capturing nature and even fishing on occasion with the family. When I got my drone about a year and a half ago, the lakes were one of the places I wanted to capture from the sky. However, being a Part 107 pilot, I did not want to break any rules regarding natural areas. I asked the local management to talk to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) about getting permission to fly. I never heard back from anyone. After almost a year, I finally decided to contact them directly. A few weeks after my inquiry, I finaly got a messge from them saying I could fly as long as I follow FAA regulations. They even told me that they are always looking for nice videos and photos for promotion. Maybe I can work on some projects with them in the future. I hope you enjoy the video.
