The Lake District Castlerigg stone circle 3000BC
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
AirVuz contributor and pilot Eden Valley Drone brings us this excellent aerial view of a well-known stone circle in North West England. Known variously as Castlerigg, Keswick Carles, and Druids' Circle, it's located near the town of Keswick in Cumbria, in the Lake District. It's believed that the complex was likely built in the range of 3000 BC, possibly a bit earlier. While there is no consensus on the original purpose of the complex, it's believed that it may have been related to the ceremonial use of axes.

Castlerigg stone circle was filmed at sunrise with some time-lapse and drone footage.dji Mavic air 2 Castlerigg is perhaps the most atmospheric and dramatically sited of all British stone circles, with panoramic views and the mountains of Helvellyn and High Seat as a backdrop. It is also among the earliest British circles, raised in about 3000 BC during the Neolithic period.
