Today on The Drone Dish, Tyler catches up with Dirk Dallas (Air Vūz Profile: dirka), founder of the popular Blog and Instagram account, From Where I Drone. Dirk’s unique eye for symmetry and composition can be seen is his amazing aerial photography and cinematography of deserts, icebergs and skyscrapers around the world.

Dirk was one of the first-ever users of Instagram — he started using it on the very first day it launched — and has seen his followers continue to grow on the platform. His personal Instagram account, @dirka, now has more than 300,000 followers. His drone-centric account @fromwhereidrone has amassed over 120,000 followers. And the hashtag that Dirk popularized (#FromWhereIDrone) has been used nearly 200,000 times by drone pilots from around the world.

After starting out with one of the original DJI Phantom drones, Dirk has now flown a variety of UAVs through the years. His current favorite, he says, is the DJI Mavic.
