Italy's Dolomite Mountains have become one of the most-droned sights in Europe. Part of the Northern Limestone Alps, the Dolomites run through the two provinces of the Trentino-Alto-Adigio Region as well as the Beluno Province of the neighboring region of Veneto. They are known not so much for their height as their prominence, with their jagged peaks becoming some of the best-known sights of the entire Alps system.
