Svalbard - A Journey to the End of the World

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Top contributor denisbarbas, runner-up for the 2022 Drone Video of the Year, brings us this stunning piece from Norway's Svalbard Islands.  The islands of the archipelago are some of the northernmost bits of land on Earth, lying roughly halfway between mainland Norway's northern coast (itself well within the Arctic Circle) and the North Pole.  Only small bits of Canada, Greenland, and a few Russian islands are north of these latitudes.  The islands are covered with glaciers, which produce giant icebergs, as you'll see in the video.

SVALBARD - a place that changed me forever. The experience of being so far North, disconnected from the rest of the world can teach you a lot of things. The remoteness of this place, the untouched nature, the endless glaciers, the abundance of wildlife and the feeling of being so small in the vastness of it all is what makes this place so special, but it also serves as a reminder of our impact on the planet and the effects our actions can have on this remote place and the wildlife that depends on it.
