Sunset At Algiers Point
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
As it passes through the city of New Orleans, Louisiana on its way to the Gulf of Mexico, the mighty Mississippi River makes a sharp right turn. The landform created by this turn is known as Algiers Point, and it's just east and opposite the river from the French Quarter, the historical core of this historic city. Several decades ago, the neighborhood around the point began being called the Algiers Point neightborhood. You can check it out from above in this drone video by Bumble Bee Productions.

first time at Algiers Point which is across the busy Mississippi River from New Orleans. There are levee walls with walking/Biking path and picnic benches along this tall mound offering an array of things to see. Cruise ships, ships, tugs boats, skyscrapers of New Orleans and even amazing sunsets. Old Gretna is a twin town to the old New Orleans I grew up in and just took be back in time with neighborhood pubs and corner stores. Just an amazing place for me to visit. Algiers Point is the launching/landing for ferryboats that usher people back and forth to New Orleans. Hope you enjoy this amazing day I experienced...
