The village of Soprabolzano is one of the fraziones (administrative sub-divisions) of the commune of Ritten in South Tyrol, one of the two provinces which make up the Trentino-Alto-Adigio region. The German-sounding names of the towns and villages of the region is a historical legacy: until World War I, South Tyrol was a province of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
