Skiing in the Lofoten Islands, Norway

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Top AirVuz contributor Hayden Kast earned a spot as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist for this fantastic drone video of a ski trip to Norway's Lofoten Islands.  While the islands lie within the Arctic Circle, due to the unusual ocean currents along this portion of Norway's western coastline they have an extremely mild winter climate, with daily mean temperatures remaining above freezing throughout the year.  This results, somewhat paradoxically, in a short skiing season: generally between early February and late April.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

Last April, I had the privilege of going on a backcountry ski trip to the Lofoten Islands in northern Norway. Despite the challenging conditions (lots of rain and wind), we were able to ski some cool peaks and fly my drone quite a bit!
