Sisál, Yucatán - The Grand Flamingo Commute

The Mexican state of Yucatan occupies the western part of the Yucatan Peninsula, which it shares with its neighboring state Quintana Roo.  Far from the beaches and resorts of Cancun and the Mayan Riviera, this is a rainforest country and it offers an extraordinary amount of biodiversity.  It's become one of the top eco-tourism destinations in Mexico.  Contributor Iñigui was in  Sisál, Yucatán when he happened upon a flock of flamingos.  The drone video he took from this encounter is truly memorable.

Song is "Huitzil" by Porter @porteroficial. Drove 80 minutes from Merida in Yucatán to Sisál... the once port-town leading to the gulf of Mexico. Upon arrival, I found some marshlands that were beckoning for a low-altitude magic pro drone flight during golden hour. Little did I know, I was catching peak traffic hour of the flamingos heading back home after a long day of work. I flew for about 20 minutes, and had one of the most surreal and amazing experiences of my drone-pilot career. Was very careful to only get close enough to the flamingos to not risk the danger of a collision, and using the rest of the 4K sensor to punch in and grab one of my most special pieces in my filmmaking career.
