Sisál, Yucatán - The Grand Flamingo Commute

Far from the beaches and resorts of Cancun and the Mayan Riviera, this is a rainforest country and it offers an extraordinary amount of biodiversity. It's become one of the top eco-tourism destinations in Mexico. Contributor Iñigui was in Sisál, Yucatán when he happened upon a flock of flamingos. The drone video he took from this encounter is truly memorable.

Song is "Huitzil" by Porter @porteroficial. Drove 80 minutes from Merida in Yucatán to Sisál... the once port-town leading to the gulf of Mexico. Upon arrival, I found some marshlands that were beckoning for a low-altitude magic pro drone flight during golden hour. Little did I know, I was catching peak traffic hour of the flamingos heading back home after a long day of work. I flew for about 20 minutes, and had one of the most surreal and amazing experiences of my drone-pilot career. Was very careful to only get close enough to the flamingos to not risk the danger of a collision, and using the rest of the 4K sensor to punch in and grab one of my most special pieces in my filmmaking career.
